Though she studied Biochemistry, her passion for creativity led her into fashion, where she now reigns as a fashion designer, milliner, and educator. As the founder and creative director of Bolatstitches, Isiwat has styled over 500 women and children, transforming ordinary fabric into elegant statements of identity and pride.

More than just a designer, she’s a mentor , having trained over 200 students both offline and online, nurturing the next generation of skilled fashion creatives.

Our End of year activities.

As we approach the final months of the year, Women of Excellence is excited to announce a series of impactful events aimed at empowerment, growth, and community development. Our diverse lineup of activities will provide opportunities for training, networking, and celebration.

 1. Medical Outreach & CSR – October 13th ,We kick off with a Medical Outreach initiative, combining Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts to give back to the community. This day will focus on health awareness, free medical check-ups, and consultations. 

2. Empowerment & Trainings – November 10th-14th Throughout mid-November, we will be hosting multiple training sessions aimed at empowering women in diverse fields. Whether you’re looking to learn new skills or sharpen existing ones, these sessions will provide the tools you need to excel.

3. Exhibition & General Training – November 15th In addition to the empowerment sessions, we will hold an exhibition where attendees can showcase their work, ideas, and products, providing a platform for exposure and collaboration. This day will also include comprehensive general training for all participants.

4. Neighbourhood Sales End of Year Party – December 15th To wrap up the year, we will gather for a festive end-of-year party to celebrate our collective achievements. It will be a night of reflection, appreciation, and fun, recognizing all we’ve accomplished and the paths ahead for the coming year. 

This year promises to end on a high note as we focus on development and celebration. We encourage all members and participants to join us in making these events a success

MENOPAUSE

LET’S TALK ABOUT MENOPAUSE

What is Menopause?

In a lay man’s term, Menopause is a point in time 12 months after a woman’s last period. The years leading up to that point, when women begin to have changes in their monthly cycles, hot flashes, or other symptoms, are called the menopausal transition or peri-menopause.

The menopausal transition most often begins between ages 45 and 55.

Common symptoms of menopause are:

1.Anxiety: changes in mood – such as low mood or irritability.

2.Changes in skin conditions, including dryness or increase in oiliness and onset of adult acne. 

3.Difficulty sleeping – this may make you feel tired and irritable during the day.

4.Discomfort during sex.

5.Feelings of loss of self. Etc…•

Although vaginal dryness is common after menopause, some people may experience increased vaginal discharge. In fact, in one 2018 study , vaginal discharge and infections were the second most common symptoms during menopause

So with this, understand you are to seek help early and enjoy your menopausal journey.

 

Who are those affected by menopause?

 It usually affects women between the ages of 45 and 55, but it can happen earlier. It affects anyone who has periods. Menopause can happen naturally, or can be triggered from reasons such as surgery to remove the ovaries (oophorectomy) or the uterus (hysterectomy), cancer treatments like chemotherapy, or a genetic reason.

What color is menopause discharge?

 Postmenopausal discharge should still be clear or white, but there may be less than usual. You may need to use lubricants to relieve vaginal dryness, yet you should still produce small amounts of discharge, even if you have not menstruated for more than a year.

Can you get pregnant during menopause with no period?

Your body will still be releasing eggs – ovulating – and pregnancy is a possibility.

But if your final period was over 12 months ago, you have potentially passed menopause (meaning that you are postmenopausal). When you are postmenopausal, your body no longer releases eggs and you can’t get pregnant naturally but via other means (another discussion).

How does menopause affect a woman’s health?

The cessation of menstrual periods is often associated with a variety of unpleasant symptoms, including anxiety, depression, decreased libido, vaginal dryness, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, and vasomotor symptoms (Hot flashes and Night Sweats). These symptoms may last years after the menopause transition but the good news is that they can be managed.

TREATMENTS MAY INCLUDE :

Hormone therapy. Estrogen therapy is the most effective treatment option for relieving menopausal hot flashes. Depending on your personal and family medical history,

Your doctor may recommend estrogen in the lowest dose and the shortest time frame needed to provide symptom relief for you.

0.5 percent cybersecurity levy on electronic transfers

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has recently issued a directive for banks and other financial institutions to implement a 0.5 percent cybersecurity levy on electronic transfers. This measure aims to enhance the security of digital transactions and protect consumers from cyber threats. The circular was signed by Chibuzor Efobi, the director of payments system management, and Haruna Mustafa, the director of financial policy and regulation, on Monday,6th of May,2024.

FG has declared May 1st as Public Holiday To Mark Workers’ Day

The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 1, as public holiday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day.

This declaration was contained in a statement issued Tuesday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Aishetu Gogo Ndayako on behalf of the minister, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.

Dr Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, emphasized on the need for excellence, efficiency and equity in all spheres of labour.

Re-affirming on administration’s commitment to fostering a culture of innovation, productivity, and INCLUSIVITY in the workplace.

He said; “In alignment with this year’s theme, which focuses on ensuring safety and health at work in a changing climate, I wish to state that the Federal Government remains steadfast in its resolve to prioritize the safety and well-being of all citizens.

“Let me reaffirm Mr. President’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for work, where every worker can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development”.

While acknowledging the contribution of workers, he called for proactive measures to mitigate adverse effects of climate change through synergy in the implementation of sustainable practices and policies that promote well-being in the workplace and in building a nation guided by the principles of integrity, diligence and compassion.
